This year the 12th Annual European NGV Conference, NGVs for a Better Climate; A Better Climate for NGVs focuses on the ‘political imperative’ of getting NGVs squarely back on the political agenda in Brussels in order to support the European Commission’s target to replace 10% of the fuel consumption in the transportation sector with natural gas by the year 2020. Also the connections between NGVs and several other European political imperatives including energy security, renewable resources, and climate change will be highlighted. These issues will be addressed by high-level policy makers in the European Commission as well as the European Parliament. Outside of politics, the conference also includes sessions on Perspectives on the Competitive Future for Clean Vehicle Technologies and Fuels as well as Sharpening the Image of NGVs.

Creating a Better Balance for Transportation

In keeping with ENGVA’s political philosophy of creating a better balance in the transportation sector between traditional diesel/petrol fuels, natural gas and biomethane there is a session on Renewable Realities: Biomethane for Vehicles as well as a session on NGVs are Better for the Climate, which will feature presentations on the most up-to-date European analyses of the role of NGVs in preserving the environment.
